First is creating the modern legal ally for consumers. As a team, we exist to create digital products that help people build cost-effective agreements for every stage of their lives. Our first product is a lawyer-reviewed digital prenup.
Our team of Firstmates consists of former Google and Meta executives, top-tier legal experts from Yale, NYU, UCLA Law, and more. We are united by a singular mission - to make prenups a worthy tradition. We’re a venture-backed startup, with funding from top VCs and angels including Expa, Cleo Capital, and more. Our team is still small and it’s the perfect time to join; every employee at First plays a foundational role in bringing our product to life.

Firstmates work remotely from different locations across the country. We collaborate on Slack, and as a California-based company we work on Pacific Time (PT). That said, we recognize the creativity and inspiration that comes from being physically together and we take advantage of opportunities to bring the team together whenever possible.
All Firstmates have access to our shared working spaces through Expa.
